5 Best Cruelty Free Liquid Liners

Finding the best cruelty free liquid liners has become a very serious mission for me over the last year. I use liquid liner basically every day, so it’s important to me to have a product I can depend on. So many liquid liners are difficult to work with and make creating a wing a very frustrating, messy experience. The best part about each of these liners is that they make clean, crisp lines very easily. When you’re busy, you don’t have time for a sub-par liner!ย Plus, they’re cruelty-free, which means no animal testing!

1. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Trooper
$20

This is my holy grail liquid liner. My makeup bag is never complete without one of these. I love how thin the brush is on this liner. It leaves a beautiful, precise line. It’s so easy to work with when creating a wing. I also really appreciate Kat Von D as a brand because I know that the products are vegan friendly. This pen is totally worth the $20.

2. Tarte Maneater Liquid Eyeliner

Tarte Maneater Liquid Liner
$20

I am in love with Tarte’s whole Maneater collection. The packaging is everything I want to see when applying my face for the day. I definitely think the tip of this eyeliner compares to the Kat Von D liner because it is so thin. I believe that have a thin brush makes for the easiest wing because it doesn’t leave a mess. Many liquid liners are just way to thick for me! This liner is waterproof as well, so it lasts through the day.

3. Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

$6.99

This liner is amazing because it’s only $6.99! You can find this beauty at Walgreen’s (or online). This pen is probably the closest drugstore dupe for KVD’s tattoo liner that I have found, but the best part about this one is the is truly waterproof. No playing around. I have issues with my watering right eye in the mornings (due to eye shadow irritation… but what I am going to do… not wear eye shadow?!). This formula stays put, maybe even better than KVD, to be honest!

4. NYX Epic Ink Liner

$8

NYX is really stepping up their makeup game lately. After trying their Two Timer Dual Ended Eyeliner, I swore I would never buy liquid liner from this brand again. However, I ran out of KVD and found this in my local Target. This pen creates a smooth, crisp wing very easily. It doesn’t have the staying power for watering eyes like the Jesse’s Girl liner, but it’s definitely a great deal for $8.

5. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

$22

This liner has been in my personal makeup queue for a while now. Most people seem to be a KVD or a Stila girl when it comes to their liners, so I was hesitant to try this one. I’m really glad I did. The best part about this liner is that it glides very effortlessly and that it does not feather. Often cheaper liquid liners tend to really expand once they’re drawn on. This one dries quickly, which makes it a must try for any liquid liner fan!

    1. I stayed away from Stila for a long time because I didn’t realize I could use it! I’m definitely planning on adding more to my collection!

  1. Thanks for this info-I totally didn’t know Jesse’s Girl was a brand worth trying. And I’m ALWAYS on the lookout for a truly waterproof liner that will last through the hot and humid Miami days (and nights). One that I have been loving is the waterproof liner by Essence (which I believe is also cruelty free).

    1. I was really surprised by that one! It’s definitely more long wearing than some high end ones I’ve had. For the price, it’s worth a shot! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Kat Von D is awesome! You definitely should! I’ve only had one thing from her beauty collection that I didn’t like (immortal lash mascara), otherwise I’m all about it. ๐Ÿ™‚
